There can be no doubt that the book of Daniel was written by Daniel himself. Many people say that Daniel was written one or two hundred years after the Lord was crucified, yet both Robert Dick Wilson and modern science prove that the only time in which the Book of Daniel could possibly be written in was the 6th century BC.
Matthew 24:15-16 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
When speaking of the Abomination of Desolation, Jesus Himself signified that His disciples (whom you should be if you’re reading this article) should understand the prophesies of Daniel.
Daniel is a book that teaches about both prophesy and health. Most of us understand it as a book of prophesy, but how can it be considered a book of health? As you probably know, in the Old Testament God gave the law to Israel. Part of that law was a health law. The Israelites were given a diet. God promised them that if they heeded his law diligently He would protect them from the diseases of Egypt. Faithfully did Daniel abide in those health laws.
If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God,” He said, “and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the Lord that healeth thee.” {Exodus 15:26}
They were instructed on the many things they were not to eat. Pork and shell fish are a few examples. It is well known today that Pork is a very unhealthy food with high saturated fat and trichinosis. Trichinosis is a parasite worm and can infect the eater of pork if the pork is not cooked well enough. On top of that, trichinosis is a worm and the Israelites were instructed strictly not to eat creeping things (insects). One of the greatest causes of death in the U.S. is heart disease, which is often cause by high saturated fat in the diet.
Shell fish eat the feces of other sea creatures. They are like the cockroaches of the sea. You certainly would not eat a cockroach and likewise God taught His people not to eat shell fish. Certainly that cannot be healthy or nutritious. You can go through all of the health laws given to ancient Israel and modern science will tell you why each restricted food is unhealthy.
You might ask, “Are we still subject to the Old Testament health laws,” which begs the question, “Are you still subject to unhealthy habits?” Did you know that people get diabetes from eating too much sugar? Did you know that eating fast foods, candy, ice cream and junk food makes you fat? Did you know that these things are also know to cause Diabetes and high blood pressure too? Yes you are still subject to the laws of health, just like your are subject to the law of gravity, but let’s take it one step further and look at what the Bible says.
Acts 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Do you know why the Apostles commanded the church not to eat things that were strangled? It’s because in the Old Testament law God instructed the Israelites not to eat things that were strangled. They were instructed to cut the throat and drain the blood. Why were they instructed to drain the blood? The Bible says that it is because the life is in the blood. The blood is full of nutrients being delivered to every part of the body and therefore every disease in the body is going to be living it up in the blood stream. This was to remove the diseases which are in the blood. It was a health law and we are still subject to it.
So there you have it in the New Testament it says that we are not supposed to eat things that are strangled. Did you know that virtually all the meat sold on the market has the blood in it. As a matter of fact, if you cook a piece of steak you can see the blood in the frying pan. The meat markets don’t want to take the blood out because it gives the meat more weight. It adds to their profit. Yet right there in Acts 15:29 it says we are to abstain from blood.
There is some meat that is sold in the market as Kosher. This meat has the blood drained out of it. At least that is what the butchers claim. Whether they are being honest is another question, but most likely they are. So if any believer eats meat which is not kosher that is sold in the market, then they are breaking the commandment which the Apostles gave to all the Churches. This could not only be deadly, but could cause a soul to lose their salvation.
The Bible teaches us to be Temperate in all things. It is the lust of the flesh that drives us to consume all we can of the delicacies which modern cuisine presents to us. The Bible teaches us to deny our flesh, that the lust of the flesh is not from God and that God will destroy them that defile the Temple.
1st Corinthians 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
1st John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.1st Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
