Bible Interpretation

Before we look at how the Bible interprets itself, I should mention that there was a scholarly man who established 14 rules of Bible interpretation. This man, William Miller, was not a scholar by profession, nor by a secular standard of education. He became a scholar through the practice of studying the Bible. This man was William Miller and he produced the 14 rules of Bible Interpretation and they led up to an event known as the “Three Angel Messages” in Seventh Day Adventist history. One very significant point is that speaking of William Miller in the first paragraph of the chapter titled, “William Miller,” in her book “Early Writings“, Ellen White said the Angels of God repeatedly visited William Miller to guide his mind and give him understanding of Biblical Prophesy. This is the greatest reason I find that William Miller’s 14 Rules of Bible Interpretation are so significant. Early Writings pg 229 par 1 God sent His angel to move upon the heart of a farmer who had not believed the Bible, to lead him to search the prophecies. Angels of God repeatedly visited that chosen one, to guide his mind and open to his understanding prophecies which had ever been dark to God’s people. {EW 229.1} There seem to be many varying gospel interpretations in today’s Christian … Continued

Daniel Chapter 7

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. 2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. Remember that when the Bible uses the word “Sea,” figuratively it is speaking of peoples, nations, multitudes and tongues as is shown in {Revelation 17:15} 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. Remember also that when the Bible uses the word “Beast,” or “Beasts,” figuratively it is referring to nations. Daniel Chapter 7 speaks a lot about Beasts, as a matter of fact it speaks about 4 Beasts. If you scroll down to {Daniel 7:17} and {Daniel 7:23} it says that the fourth beast is a fourth nation. Therefore all the beasts spoken of in this chapter are one of these four beasts/kingdom combinations. This also reinforces the fact that the “Sea” referred to people, because a nation must come up out of a sea of people. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, … Continued

Daniel

There can be no doubt that the book of Daniel was written by Daniel himself. Many people say that Daniel was written one or two hundred years after the Lord was crucified, yet both Robert Dick Wilson and modern science prove that the only time in which the Book of Daniel could possibly be written in was the 6th century BC. Matthew 24:15-16 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: When speaking of the Abomination of Desolation, Jesus Himself signified that His disciples (whom you should be if you’re reading this article) should understand the prophesies of Daniel. Daniel is a book that teaches about both prophesy and health. Most of us understand it as a book of prophesy, but how can it be considered a book of health? As you probably know, in the Old Testament God gave the law to Israel. Part of that law was a health law. The Israelites were given a diet. God promised them that if they heeded his law diligently He would protect them from the diseases of Egypt. Faithfully did Daniel abide in those health laws. If thou wilt diligently hearken to … Continued

The Gospel Truth

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus came to die for our sins and to restore the image of God in mankind. It was Satan’s studied purpose to destroy the image of God in man. By the same token it must be your studied purpose to restore the image of God into your own person. How do we do that? Well of course you cannot do it yourself, but you must rely on Jesus to accomplish it for you. We can do nothing without Jesus. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Does this mean that we don’t have to do anything to be saved but just believe in Jesus. Certainly it does not. According to the Bible we have a part to play. We must have faith in God the Father and His Son Jesus our Savior. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. So what is faith? How do we put our faith in God? James explains it very well. James 3:17-26 17 Even so … Continued
